Some kind person has just given me a full box of Portra VC Readyload! Now I know that you can't use it in a Quickload holder but can it be used in a Polaroid holder?

There's a great discussion about the pros and cons of Readyloads and Quickloads in various holders, online here: http://www.largeformatphotography.info/ ... eadyloads/

The opinion seems to be that Readyloads work better (i.e. with less potential for light leaks) in Polaroid 545 holders than they do in the dedicated Kodak holders. This info might be a bit out of date, or at any rate obsolete, but it's a fair guide.

My own recollection is that you need to make certain the little tab in the Polaroid holder protrudes enough to grip the metal clip that crimps the film packet together, and that when you press the button on the 545 the tab retracts enough not to snag the metal clip when you withdraw the exposed packet (does that make sense? I think so!). On one of my 545s, this tab has lost some of its spring and no longer performs as it ought.

Good luck!

Thanks for the link Oliver, I do remember viewing this years ago but must have forgot this resource was still there.
