				Too common, apparently!

				"Information
The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words:
 ebony.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards."
And there was me thinking that Ebony gear was relatively exclusive!

				Those things are as exclusive as any over engineered, over weight item could ever be. I'd love one on a plinth in the front room with a couple of spot lights shining on it but I couldn't be bothered to cart it about with me.
Off your perches and back in touch with reality. A Wista 45DX can take a bigger range of lenses (even my 65mm SA) for a lot less weight. I doubt that my Wistas alone in this.
Vanman.

Ah, but that was only a Forum search on this website, so I'd have thought I was relatively safe?

Two words: asymmetric back.

Trust me. If it weighed twice as much I'd still carry my 45SU for that one feature alone.

Well actually it does weigh twice as much (as a Chamonix anyway).
I do agree about the asymettric back though - quite a few people I know have 'dissed' it until they ended up using it
Things that are 50% better tend to cost 200% more, it's just the way of the world.. If you have the 200% more then the 50% better is worth it

Tim
p.s. vanman
Wista DX -> Bellows 47mm -> 300mm
45SU -> Bellows 58mm - 365mm
If you want to talk about value for money/weight/usability balance, you won't beat the Chamonix so we've both got the wrong camera

				p.s. I wouldn't google 'Ebony' on it's own without safe search on

45SU -> Bag Bellows - 47mm* (on recessed lens board), 58mm* (on
ordinary lens board) - 400mm (on top hat board) or to 450mm (with top hat board and 90mm extension back)
I agree with Tim.... The assymetrics are very useful when time is of the essence, as it so often is for me when lugging my camera out, on coach trips, in Norway. You can also stroke an Ebony and purr.
*with movements!

				Sadly I did Google - "stroke an ebony" - needless to say I've had to apply parental controls on my computer!
