Dear all...
As a newbie to LF and someone who does not have the facility to develop his own films, I was pondering how best to send exposed films to the lab for processing.
A local lab has told me they would be happy for me to deliver exposed films in holders and collect the holders once film processed, however I see that another potential way is to use the same darkroom bag I used to load film to unload it into an empty film box.
This seems a sensible thing.... only prob being as I havent sent any to the lab yet, I dont have an empty box/bag to put them in!. I suspect this is a common prob when you first start out. Does anyone have any empty boxes spare that we could come to an arrangement over? or is there another method?

As a fairly newbie myself I'm sorry I can not help you.
However I was wondering how you were printing your images, are you getting them scanned first?
In the past 8 months or so I have been getting ciabachrome prints from BPD phototech, but they have now stopped that service and have yet to find a replacment.I expect I will have to go down the sending them off to be scanned route first but I did like the look and feel of Ciabachrome.If your lab still does wet processing can you let me have their details.

Its worth asking your lab to just send/give you an empty box. They'll have tons. Peak Imaging sent me one (for free) when I started out.

Also remember to ask for the box back afterwards when you send it in.

When I started LF last year Peak Imaging in Sheffield, sent me some empty film boxes to get me started - free as Dave said. When I send in the exposed sheets for processing I also ask them to return the empty boxes for using again. I would've thought any good lab would do this for you.
