Case advice

Post by Charles Twist » Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:20 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

I have acquired a 105mm filter with specially-made Lee adapter. The whole thing is about 13cm by 14cm, and about 2.5cm think. Anybody got any recommendations for a case I could carry it in? I'm looking for something rigid and if it were cheap & light-weight then that'd be even better - the usual story.
Thanks,
Charles

There must be one of those Lock&Lock food containers thats the right size, or a similar nonbrand equivalent.

Would fit in a 5x7 film box, 50 sheet size.

There's two shops I've used in Birmingham that sell boxes & cases for the jewellery trade, if you don't find something I'll look when I'm back in the UK in a few weeks.

As Dave said, these food containers are cheap and light. I've got the Tesco Klip fresh foodsaver rectangular 1.1L (to give it its full name) and it's nicely sized for three 5x4 darkslides. It cost somewhere between £2 and £3 and would be fine for you if you put in a bit of bubblewrap to take up the slack. And if you find you don't like it, you can use it for DDS or even your sandwiches on a day out.

edit: on second thoughts, the 13cm might be tight, but worth a try?

The 5x7 box sounds like a good idea. If anybody's got one handily lurking around, not doing very much, I'd be keen to hear from you. Regards,
Charles
