Kodak sheet film, which way is up?

So far I've only use ilford FP4 film in 4x5, I'm just defrosting a pack of Kodak Portra 160VC, the ilford was boxed emulsion side down in the box I think (as it was unwrapped) but the index cut outs started from the upper right looking at the emulsion side. Is the kodak the same, I see it starts with a long square tapered sided cutout, is this the top right with the emulsion side towards me?

Is there a standard for all this?

Yes, notch top right means emulsion is towards you.

Just to be really pedantic, top right means on the right end of the top edge, not the top of the right edge 8)
