Whats the difference

Post by Nick Coombs » Fri Sep 16, 2011 8:14 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hi...

Having taken delivery of my first LF camera MPP mkVI I am keen to try a few things out and test the loading and unloading of film to both camera and dev Tank, so after a quick look on eBay I have found some Quickload Fujifilm Velvia a bit out of date but I am happy with that for now as all I want to do is play till I am happy that I can the unloading and loading process with out damaging film.

My question is this what the difference between normal and quickload, and does anyone have a source of film other than ebay so I can do what I want till I am ready to move on to the next stage...

Thank.

Nick

Nick, A quick heads-up. The main difference between normal and quickload film is that Quickload is no longer available - they stopped making it make to mine and many others disappointment :(
You'll also have a hard time practising loading it if you don't have a Quickload film holder.
Going forward you will need to buy normal sheet film and use DDS (double dark slide) film holders.
Good luck.

Nick,
My current films of choice are
1. Fuji Velvia 100 which I would get from here (or search for cheapest);
http://www.fujilab.co.uk/catalog/fujich ... p-793.html
2. Ilford Delta 100 which I would get from here;

They do Velvia too but its £9 more.
