I can't seem to get a clarification on whether the Fuji instant film FP100C45 is discontinued or not - I wonder if you know anything? Also, do you know any good shops that stock it at a reasonable price? So far I can find it at Amazon, Robert White's and Fuji's store at around £30 a box. Pricey!

Hi Julian

I've just been looking on the Mr Cad web site. They have some Fuji instant advertised, not exactly sure whether it's what you're looking for but have pasted the blurb from their listing below. They want 8.50 box or 70.00 for 10.

"Fuji Instant FP100C 31/4x41/4 Glossy or Matt - Single dated 09/07"

Thanks Ian, I think that was in fact E6 film (he keeps dozens of boxes of it just next to the counter) but I will double check.

This stuff comes in two different sizes (that I am aware of).

"Fuji Instant FP100C 31/4x41/4 Glossy or Matt - Single dated 09/07" is 3 and 1/4 inch by 4 and 1/4 inch rather than the full 4x5 inch of the other one.

The smaller one is much less expensive. You use a different Polaroid holder for each type. I use the smaller of the two precisely because it is cheaper.
Although I have never understood Polaroid film designations, I think that the smaller (3 1/4 x 4 1/4) is equivalent to Polaroid 600.

I suspect that Polaroid died because nobody could understand which type of film would work in which camera.

Thanks Valerio. That's quite unfortunate.. there are no alternatives, right?

Hi Julian,

You're welcome. As far as I know there is no alternative at the moment. However, there's a new 4x5 B&W instant film under development: http://new55project.blogspot.com/. Hopefully it will be on sale soon! :)
