Thanks very much for the tip-off, Glenn. I'd been worrying about getting some film at a good price and I'm sorted for a while now!

Just as a matter of interest do people recommend storage in the fridge or the freezer (for longer-term storage)?

Cheers,

Gavin

From what I've seen and read most people seem to store in the fridge and freezer. I guess freezer storage for film that you're not going to use any time soon and fridge storage for film you're going to use in the near future. Now it may also be film dependant so probably worth checking the film datasheet first.

I currently have a few boxes in the freezer which will get transferred to the fridge when I get close to using them.

Thanks for your advice, Glenn.

As it happens, it may not now be an immediate issue as I've just had an e-mail from Whites to say that the film is out of stock! I can't understand how they let me go through the whole ordering process this morning without indicating this. I've even had umpteen confirmation e-mails before this latest one. :@

Anyway, if I do succeed in getting some stocks at a reasonable price I'll know how to store it!

Thanks again,

Gavin

That makes 2 of us and I ordered at 23:16 last night! What I find amusing is the expected delivery date of 3-5 days for shorted dated film lol :)

if it makes you feel any better 7dayshop did a similar thing to me back in september/october when they were selling velvia cheap, as it always seems to shift like "sh!t off a shovel".

Same here :(

I ordered some first thing this morning then got an email saying out of stock, 3-5 days expected delivery.

I'd also ordered 2 boxes of full price film last week which was out of stock and no delivery expected until late February, they asked me today if I'd like to change that order for the short-dated film instead so I said yes please, hopefully they wouldn't have done that if they weren't sure that they can get more of the short-dated film from Fuji.

That's interesting to know. I had assumed that if I had missed the boat then my order would have been cancelled, but that sort of explains why they haven't.

Not taking this too far off topic, but it looks like their new website doesn't have any realtime stock levels. I don't know what the difficulties and economics of realtime are, but it's my pet hate when websites take your money and sometimes even send confirmation emails when the stock was gone before the order was placed. :x

Totally agree Peter. They went to the effort to get the website redone and include ex vat and vat prices, yet realtime stock levels was excluded/missed, although it is good to get a few more email notifications about the progress of the order.

In the end I'm not too fussed about the delay as I have enough film to last a while.

I spoke to them and ordered some today. They havent had it from Fuji yet and are ordering based on orders rather than buying bulk & selling. Seems sensible tome, Fuji have no problems with stock - usual fuji supply & demand problems and they wonder why they keep getting it wrong.....

I notice today that RW have taken the money for my order from my card, so hopefully thats also a good sign.

The Velvia is in - they sold 100 boxes in one week mainly I suspect to the viral marketing effect of this site !
