Hi Tom,

I think you may have a back for a 6x9 camera (i.e. 2x3). You need to look for a 'reducing back' from 5x4 (inches) to 6x9 (cm) - but I've never personally seen one of these, only ones that do 10x8 down to 5x4.

In all reality, it's probably going to be cheaper to get a 5x4 rollfilm back. I have the cheap Chineese one, and although it's very basic it works well.

Hi Tom,

I have the Shen Hao 6x12 back - which has masks for 6x4.5, 6x6, and 6x9 (I believe - never used them, I only use it as 6x12). I bought mine off eBay from a seller in Hong Kong, and I've never had a problem with it (except remembering if I've wound or not!). It's built like a tank, hewn from a lump of metal without any finesse, but it works well.

Ffordes are offering them at £260 new in the UK, I paid nowhere near that much.

I also have a "23" 6x9 back, but to start with, it's just about 6x8 !

I've been salivating over a 6x12, but there seems to be 2 kinds of the cheapo chinese one; one of them is "bulky looking" and has a much needed sliding door over the red window.
The other one seems to have a plain red window, and that is a bad, bad idea... I have to use electrical tape on all the red windows of my folder to prevent leaks from there... So that back could be hard to use with pan film ! It's quite a bit cheaper on Ebay...

Where to get a good price for a 6x12 ? The "Da-yi" seems to be the one I'm targeting. The eBay seller however is charging something like £25 for "postage" :/
