E6 processing

Post by DJ » Sat Feb 17, 2007 1:46 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

I'm off on a bit of a holiday in a couple of weeks, to indulge my hobby ( LF of course! )

The end of the trip will be Las Vegas, after several other states. Naturally, I don't particularly want to take lots of exposed Velvia through the airport scanners if I have to, so I want to get them developed whilst in Vegas. Does anyone know of any decent E6 processing place in the Las Vegas area who do 5x4? I've only found one place, and they don't do LF. :(

Search engines haven't turned up anything either. Any ideas anyone?

You must be using the wrong search engines :? I used Yahoo (E6 processing las vegas) and got a few references including the following links, they seem to a mixed bag of opinions :(

Sorry, I should clarify, the search engines didn't turn up anything that was viable.

I got those links you mention, and a few others, but the posts in them are about 6 or more years old in some cases, and the places they mention either no longer exist, or don't do 5x4 processing.

I'm going to fed-ex them to California and have them done at a pro-lab and fex-exed back to me, there doesn't seem to be any place in Las Vegas which does 5x4 E6 processing :(

Don't assume that Fedex will not x-ray them; US security is tight, even internally due to things like the 9/11 planes originating from US airports.

It's a risk I'd considered, but I don't see any other way, there simply doesn't seem to be anybody in the Las Vegas area who does 5x4 E6 processing. I'll call the lab first and confirm with them how film is normally shipped to them.
