Tim, thanks for the link. For those that said they would be willing to pay extra, I guess it's available. Extra to me meant $1 more, not double over previous going price. Looks like they'll wean me off the stuff one way or another ......

I was quite surprised that the price wasn't higher to be honest. Provia 4x5 is currently £70 and this is £82 - obviously vat and import but still it's far from double..

Actually that price of £70 from the Fujilab website didn't include VAT so it's only VAT at 5.3% so it should be £86... a 22% markup on Provia in the UK

Tim, although my last large order with B&H was just over a year ago now, I paid $52 per 20 sheet box. I also bought some last year for $65 per 20 sheet box locally here in So Cal.
So the now selling price of US $125 plus $18 shipping is more then double for me anyway.
I do appreciate these updates on the life of the product no matter what. Take care !

Ah OK - yes if we're looking at last year's prices I got 100 boxes at the same price (and Provia was $48).

Understood!

Tim

p.s. on a side not, Provia is $125 dollars in the UK whereas from Badger Graphic it's $54 .... even if you add VAT and Import to Badger Graphic, it's $68 so how the UK can justify charging nearly 90% more I do not know..

No doubt without Fuji making the products(s) readily available on all fronts others will try to profiteer. However, without that Fuji direct support there will be an end to the situation one way or another. Sadly, the Fuji Distributor Groups worldwide have different answers to availability of their own product line. Most all their web sites show V-50 in sheet for 4x5,5x7,8x10 still being available. So, unless it's on the shelf at the normal outlets it must be in a limping mode at best. :?:

Got this sent to me this evening by a couple of local LF shooters here in California. Apparently firming up the end of the line for LF V-50 according to this article.

Just the end of Velvia 50 exports.. The home market have newly rebranded Velvia 50 in 8x10 and 4x5

Bloody expensive though - the exchange rate makes things quite ridiculous

I totally agree Tim. It's all out of my league in pricing. I'm sure I bought my last 5 boxes here in the USA the other day out of NYC. I split a purchase of 10 boxes total with Stef Dunn down in Australia. He was the one who actually found them on line recently. He was also the person who ramrodded the V-50 on-line petition and exchanged letters with the President of FujiFilm in Japan months ago. It looked good for the product return until this most recent update listed above. Seems a bit surreal at times, but life moves on.
