I need to stick some areas of leatherette back on the (metal) body of my MPP Mk8 and wondered if anyone has suggestions of particular glues to use or avoid?

Will you need to remove the leatherettes later for access to any screws etc underneath them? Or will a permanent fix be better? Any idea of what material the leatherettes are made?
If permanent and not plastic, I would have thought superglue. If not, don't know what the glue is other than it is dissolved with ethanol (which is what is used to take the leatherettes off old (proper) cameras).

There's a glue used by dress makers for sticking beads and sequins onto fabric ... CraftSmart Gembond. This is the best I have found for sticking leather or cloth onto metalwork. It's secure, even for vulnerable corners, but it lifts off very easily for repairs. I've used it countless times when fixing TLRs and folders.

It's made in Aussie - and I want to find a source for it here in the UK.

Many many years ago I had an Olympus OM1, and found the best way to glue its leatherette back was evostick. It pongs, you need a ventilated area or ideally outdoors, but it was effective.

Thanks for all the advice - I'd better make sure I clean off the existing glue before refitting the coverings
