Forte and Kentmere

Post by uraniumnitrate » Fri Aug 03, 2007 7:25 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hello to you!

I just step in to leave some vital information. Very unfortunately lots people spreading rumours and telling stories on the internet based on nothing or on other useless information or even based on another rumour. Now this is bad and in the end no one know what really the truth is or what the facts really are.

I call this type of people to a wannabies!

Now there are no negotiations going on between Kentmere and the former Forteinvest at all any longer. Very unfortunately Kentmere didn’t come up with the financial assets which required for the purchase of Forte’s recipe.

Negotiations still on with others but Kentmere is not a part of it. With whom is still a classified information which I'm not alloud to say .

The use of Cadmium is not allowed to be used in photographic emulsions for environmental reasons for manufacturers within the European community. I suspect that is why Kentmere are no longer negotiating. :(

That argument doesnt hold water, after all Hungary is in the EU too :-)

More likely the asset strippers who bought Forte wanted too much money. Kentmere are more than capable of producing a paper similar to Polywarmtone if they wanted.

The equation also had to include the last major distributors of Forte materials which would include Maco & particularly Fotoimpex.

Of course you are completely right on serval points. The stripper’s down there are the former director of the company and some others who wants to get as much money as possible out of it.
I’m steel dealing with him as they still have a lots of film “ master rolls frozen “ and paper which is already coated to except the final the coating of emulsion. It happened to be that this paper are perfect for alternative printing processes it’s a “baryta” gelatine coated which of course much better than anything you can do at your home. Museum weight semi matte surface and we cut this up in 12x14 inch and labelled as Forte fine art printing paper and selling it on Ebay for a few months now.
You see, nothing goes to the dump at all.

About the emulsion, It's not that easy to create the same emulsion as it takes time money and effort to do that and it's not sure no promise for any kind of success. Also if you do sussed in the lab it’s turning out to be totally different thing when it comes out to the plant to a mass-production. So, then they need to intone the process they also got to create the nearly same environment. That’s why recipes are sellable and that's why they all are a well kept secret.
