A 210mm is very practical and reasonably priced. 240mm's tend to be more expensive because newer models 60's onwards cover 10"x8".
My 210 MC Symmar cost me about £125 last year and is in mint condition it pays to shop around & abroad. It's ideal for portraits. I had 24omm but I'm not sure what happened to it.

210 lenses are good, bright, cheap and plentiful.
I have a Caltar 210 (rebadged Rodenstock), which I can only recommend. Get a f5.6 or thereabout.
They were very popular for product shots in studios for ages which is why so many are going around now.

I've used a 210 Repromaster with a front mounted shutter and was very satisfied with the results.
