I'm sorry Ian, but that appears not to be correct. The import duty is not payable on postage but the VAT is; the VAT is also calculated including the duty.

Luckily it's rare to get charged any Duty or Vat.

I always take it into account when making sure I'm saving money if its added.

Well thanks for all that. It obviously needs a bit of thought. Might be cheaper to go & smuggle the stuff back in . . . . Dennis
PS Only joking if HMC&E are watching.

Well, one year on my supply of 160S is dwindling, prices are up across the board, and the Dollar & Euro are strong against the Pound - anyone got a good recommendation for where to grab a few boxes from?

Believe it or not, despite the exchange rate, Badger Graphic would be marginally cheaper for one box of 50 sheets, compared to Robert White for five boxes of 10 sheets.

Badger - £115.40
RW - £118.25

But, if you were to order 5 boxes of 50 sheets from Badger or 25 boxes of 10 sheets from Robert White, the savings start to get better.

Badger - £458.48
RW - £555.25

The Badger prices include 6.5% duty on the film and 15% VAT on film plus duty plus postage, plus a final £8 collection charge for Parcel Force.

The RW prices include 15% VAT plus £9 shipping

I spoke to Badger about the possibility of shipping a complete case of Astia 100F Quickload and they told me that they were prepared to nogotiate a little further on the single box price, so there could be room for better pricing if you are willing to give them a call.

I'm sorry, I assumed we were discussing 4x5, but then I saw that this thread was about 8x10

But although the price for one box is cheaper from Robert White :

Badger - £96.95
RW - £87.35

... the price for five boxes starts to get more advantageous as the shipping costs are amortized :

Badger - £370.18
RW - £404.75

According to their site, all UK prices include VAT, so that's quite a lot cheaper than RW. But the price I see for 160S 8x10 is £75
