Film Change Tent

Does any one know of a UK supplier of these things apart from Calumet? Google search (even with the UK pages button ticked returns US suppliers). Looking for a Harrison Pup or similar; not a fan of Calumet delivery protocols (probably OK if you live in a "center of mass population").

Robert White sell the Harrison ones and are generally well regarded as a company to do business with.

Thanks, Calumet are reputable, just I have major issues with their choice of delivery agent, and their inflexibility even when I offer to pay any difference.

It's a shame you don't want to go to Calumet, because IMO their Changing Room really is a lot better and less expensive than the Harrison

I'm in the market for a changing tent, and I hadn't seen the Calumet version which does look good (and costs less than the Harrison). Can I ask Joanna if she thinks that it would be big enough to handle 5x7 DDs and film box?

Thanks, George

Well, it's a bit tight loading a Jobo 2553 tank with 12 Quickloads but, with just 4x5 DDSs and a box of film, you could go for a short walk if you were so inclined   The floor of the box is 40cm front to back, 50cm wide and the height is also 40cm. It is the height that makes it so much easier to work in than the Harrison, and yet it folds down to a 45cm x 55cm disc in a bag.

Thanks Joanna, that's helpful. My Jobo 3006 tank would have a problem, but for changing film it could be OK.

My issue is that I can't get anything from their courier without mad rush of a near 80 mile round trip on a Saturday morning! They won't deliver to an alternate address, or sort out re-delivery on a day when I can be in without massive additional charge.

So I can't use Calumet!

Hmmm, one of those couriers eh? Well, how about if someone in the group picks up from Calumet in either Manchester or Liverpool and then we arrange a day out with the cameras at a venue somewhere between you and Liverpool?

OK, what if I collect it from Bristol and post it to where ever you want?

How much of a hurry are you in?

Patrick; Thanks for the offer ,but I now have it sorted. I have a freind I'm visiting in Lancaster in a couple of weeks (wedding photographer) he's going to order one for me, and I'll pay him (plus a few tins of Carling) when I get there.

This sort of thing is the downside of not being a city/town dweller.

Thanks everyone.

It's not just because you don't live in a town, there is so little available in shops that I regularly end up having stuff left in my porch or collecting it from the Post Office depot. And delivery companies that have "restrictive" policies are a major PITA.

All that aside, would you still be interested in being part of an LF day out one weekend?

My gripe with Calumet (not the courier this time) is that they require me to register my alternate delivery address with my bank! This would have been my fourth purchace, not my first.

If you try and do that you get some very strange looks from the bank staff.

Perhaps Calumet is only for Pro's and registered businesses, not enthusiasts.

Yes joining you on a day out would be great, if I'm not working that is. Unfortunately I still have not finished the work on the (currently the rack and pinion drive is all over my work area) on the Graflex View; but my Crown Graphis is now working a treat.

As long as you Ebony owners promise not to fall about laughing at my efforts.

No problem - glad you're sorted.
