Oxfordshire locations?

Post by Steven » Wed Mar 09, 2011 1:24 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hello,

I'm due to be in Oxford for a few days at the end of March. I know the city reasonably well, but I don't know the surrounding area at all. Does anyone know of a good location for photography in the area, other than the city and its colleges?

Thanks

Steven

Wytham Woods, to the west of the city.

well if anyone else is considering Oxon as an all round interesting photographic location, then don't get over excited with what it has to offer - I should know I've endured it for 10+ years and there's minus stimulation

one is far better rewarded with, say Yorkshire disused Mills, Black Country depravation etc and anything old and industrial imho - there's way more potential north of Birmingham than further south, imho

Not necessarily so. But it is often the case that you never see the beauty of your own home area; you should try living in Southport

Ahem... I had a wonderful walk/recce up on the Ridgeway near Wantage at the weekend and will almost definitely going back with my LF. Admittedly it's not as rugged as the Derbyshire or Yorkshire Dales but is a beautiful place.

Joanna - would that be a recommendation for visiting Southport, then?
