Moved to Ipswich

Post by Valerio Trigari » Wed Mar 14, 2012 10:39 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hello everyone,

after a long spell of silence, due to my recent relocation to Ipswich and finishing to organise my wedding, I'm finally able to contribute again to this forum.

Is there anyone else on here who lives in Ipswich or nearby? Any location you would suggest? I've seen some interesting spots around Manningtree, while commuting to London, but I'm open to any suggestion!

Cheerio,

Valerio

Valerio - I posted a brief guide to Suffolk a couple of years ago viewtopic.php?f=4&t=592

Some of my favourite spots around Ipswich are Shingle Street, Bawdsey, Felixstowe Harbour (the bit directly across from Bawdsey), Waldringfield and Pin Mill

Hi Valerio,
Welcome to Suffolk. I was born in Ipswich and now live nearby in Bury St Edmunds.
I hope you like the area and if you fancy meeting up sometime that would be great.
Regards
David

Hi David,

thank you very much and apologies for the delay in replying to you. I really like the area where I live in Ipswich and enjoy the quiet of being out of London. Well, kind of, since I still commute there to work.

I'd definitely like to meet up sometimes. It's good to know that another LF photographer lives in the aream :) By the way, do you know if there's any shop in the area that deals with film photography?

Speak to you soon,

Valerio

Hi Valerio,

Just got back from a few days away in York.

Had a great time and saw the Queen on Thursday.

There are no more shops in Ipswich that really deal in film anymore.

There is a lab that I use in Colchester that does D&P of C41 and E6. Here is a link to their site http://www.redwoodphoto.com/

I usually buy film online from Silverprint https://www.silverprint.co.uk/ or Ag Photographic http://www.ag-photographic.co.uk/

The only thing Redwoods only dev E6 on Tues and Thurs so not sure how they keep chemicals stable.

Regards David

Hi David,

I'm glad you had a good time up in York. I too had a relaxing Easter break.

Thank you for the information about film dealers in the area. I will have a look at Redwood and see what they do. I buy film and chemicals from Silverprint as well, which is actually relatively close to where I work in London.

Regards,

Hi Valerio,
Ipswich calling.
Despite living in Ipswich for some years, I haven't made many images in Ipswich itself.
That probably needs to change.
If you fancy hooking up sometime, give me a nudge.

Hi John,

it's nice to know there's another LF lover in my neighborhood :) We should definitely meet up, together with David from Bury St Ed and anyone else in the area.

Cheers,

Valerio

I've been out over the last couple of days testing some lenses and a PMK Pyro developer...

It's good to get out shooting with a large format. Realised I've still a lot to learn...

Would be great to catch up...

David

Cool, I really want to go and explore the area with my Linhof and it would be great to have company.

My weekends are a bit busy at the moment and I'm going to get married at the beginning of next month, but we should definitely catch up after I come back from my honeymoon.
