[Charles Twist]

In November, I spent time in Australia with the in-laws. Andrew Plume suggested I show some pics. I'll start with 10 black and white ones. I'll post 10 colour ones at some later date hopefully. All these were shot on pre-1900 lenses - so Victorian photography in more than one sense of the word. Except where specified, an 8" Petzval bought from Andrew was responsible for all these shots. Film was Adox CHS25 (RIP).


Ballarat is an old gold-rush town with loads of original features, like the staircase in this hotel.


Plenty of new-build in Oz; I like the textures on this 1960's church. Shot with a Goerz Doppel Anastigmat Ser III for contrast and detail.
