Have a look at a location before you go?

I was having a general browse around for something else and came across this Geograph site where they are trying to compile pictures for every OS grid square in the country.

I know all the pictures aren't going to be up to LF standard :wink: but you might find an odd gem or something that gets your juices flowing enough to venture out...

Wow indeed! In a similar vein, I am upgrading my website and would like to use a map of GB. Scale does not need to be fantastic but outlines should be clear enough to know where we are looking at. Of particular use would be a map for Snowdonia, and one for western Scotland (inc islands). Does anyone know where I can get an image of maps without incurring the wrath of the copyright-man?

I've looked round some of the pics of my area - I like the "Report a problem with this picture button."

Where do I start? Exposure, composition, barrel distortion? The list is nearly endless... :roll: :wink:
