Hi Steve. Many apologies for the lack of communication on my part. I have tried (in vain) to contact the house - but as I understand it is run by volunteers so this may explain that they are not available when I try? I will endeavour to keep trying as this seems a great opportunity. I will keep everyone updated - promise

An update on the proposed workshop
I have spoken with Ian BEER, the gentleman who organises the tours of the mansion and he is happy for us to visit as a group on Saturday 27 January between 10am and 3pm. He is happy to act as a guide, where necessary, for the day and he is also happy for us to have unsupervised access to most of the building. He will also allow us access to parts of the house that are not open to the public (bedrooms etc)
as well as out onto the scaffolding areas surrounding the chapel (gargoyles etc).
There is a cost involved - £10 per person which I feel is a bargain. I need to have confirmation from anyone who intends coming along within the next few days please
The mansion is set in grounds that are well off the beaten track and I suggest that anyone who is able to get to the mansion early would have a great opportunity to take some external shots of the mansion/grounds (weather permitting
)
If you are interested I would ask that you reply to this posting on the forum so that I can get an idea of numbers and I can then confirm our booking with the mansion.
Hope to see you there! Paul
