Re: Wiltshire meet up
Hi everyone
For those that are still interested in meeting up next Saturday (1st June).
I intend to arrive at Martinsell Hill just before dawn (4.49am). I usually park here
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll= ... 8&t=k&z=18
Go through the gate and follow the edge of the wood. The path will then start to rise up the hill passing through a small copse. There are fine views to be had all along the ridge of the hill.
For those wanting to join us later I suggest meeting at Barbury Castle
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll= ... 8&t=k&z=17
There's limited parking on the verge but it's a fairly quiet road. The Ridgeway path runs through the middle of the earthworks with great views and some interesting isolated copses of trees.
If anyone wants my mobile no. please PM me
Paul

Re: Wiltshire meet up
Sorry you can't make it Sean, was looking forward to catching up with you. We'll have to meet up on the South Coast at some point?

Re: Wiltshire meet up
Likewise Paul, I was looking forward to catching up too. Perhaps we could meet up at West Wittering or Felpham Beach at some point soon, I don't get down there half as much as I should as they're only 20 minutes down the road! Let me know if you fancy that.
I don't know when I'll be down Swanage next, probably be about September now. Maybe I'll post a suggested meet up there on here for around that time.

Re: Wiltshire meet up
Was good to catch up with you guys again (Richard, Glenn, Colette, Evan (aka bananalegs)).
For the early risers the dawn was subtle but some nice early light on Martinsell Hill. One always hopes that the weather is kind for a day out, unfortunately the weather was a bit too kind with clear blue, cloudless sky with very harsh strong sunlight, not my most favoured conditions! After a brief discussion we retired to the local woods for a few hours where dappled light and a carpet of bluebells greeted us... so expect a few clichéd images! (well from me at least!).
A three hour natter in one of the local hostelries, putting the world to rights, went down very well before we all went our separate ways.
It was tentatively decided that the next get together could be the South coast... Selsey, West Wittering perhaps?
I am also going to organise an Autumnal foray into Burnham Beeches during Oct/Nov... so watch this space!
Many thanks again to all those who joined me on Saturday.

I'm going to revisit west woods Sunday morning so if anyone's free and wants to come along then let me know

Re: Wiltshire meet up
Many thanks Paul for organising a great day out.
I have souped my film and paper and apart from a few schoolboy errors with mis-calculating exposure times, I managed to get a workable harvest of images. Here are a few tasters; they are available in larger views on my blog and the blog page has a few others too.

and a pinhole:

Best regards,
Evan

Re: Wiltshire meet up
Nice work Evan, these and those on your blog. As this was on my doorstep a bit frustrated to be out of action with flu and not make this, oh well, maybe get to meet you all next time... Thanks to Paul though for setting this up.

Re: Wiltshire meet up
An excellent harvest of images Evan, I particularly like the tree canopy.
Joe - you were sadly missed (sorry to hear about the flu BTW), we were hoping to have a foray into Severnake under your guidance... another time perhaps...

Re: Wiltshire meet up
I superb set of images Evan. Think I'll have to give the pinhole a bit more of a work out on Sunday
