Re: Next official get-together: April16 & 17
Hi Rod,
Glad you enjoyed it - as you say, Quickloads do seem like a luxury after wet collodion but I don't think I'll be swapping just yet - the convenience is just too great until they run out. The wet plate lads could get their own back and think that we're not 'proper' photographers for using the new-fangled 'rapid' stuff
Your other post might have been given the elbow, oops! Have you recovered from your fight with the wall on Saturday evening?
All the best,
Andrew

An excellent and most enjoyable weekend. Thank you to everyone in the group for their good company, humour and tolerance of the questions from a LFer novice. I found the wet process quite fascinating, though I think I'll master (?) 5x4 first.
Special thanks to Charles for his organisation, Naomi for her hospitality and Joanna for her tuition.
When's the next workshop?
Best wishes to all
Tony

A late thanks from me too. Disappointed not to have been around for the group photo though.
Think I'll have a fistful of images to show at the next one.

Ok - I'll start - First picture from UKLF Saltburn trip. Not my usual sorta subject - first real play with Black & White rather than a conversion from Velvia 50. Exposure unfiltered so was lacking in contrast - amazing what turning up the contrast to 11 can do when you scan Shame the steam blew off to the right - cant have it all I guess. I wasn't sure to stick this post with the rest of the critique stuff or here.... Moderators -feel free to move if required... regards Tim

Ok, here is a quick scan from one of my favourites from what was a great weekend. Will probably crop off the white cloud at the top when I come to print it.

Another cliche shot - this looks better when not loaded to Flickr - they seem to mute the colours even tho profile is Adobe rgb . Anyhow - a lovely day out
Shot with Fuji 400t with my back to the harbour wall - could have done to go back another 10 yards but looks to spaced with a 240.

A sunrise on a UKLF get-together - I think this is a first - esp. on the ones I've been on ! Velvia 50 - I've only set black and white points and slightly upped the contrast. I've not boosted the saturation - I hope people don't think Its overblown ?
