Isle of Purbeck meet up in March?
Does anyone fancy a day out in Purbeck? I was thinking of a dawn start at either Winspit or Seacombe, a pint and pasty at the Square and Compass at Worth Matravers for lunch followed by an afternoon on Emmetts Hill then down to Chapmans Pool. Saturdays of 10th,17, and 24th are good for me.

Just had that feeling of Deja vu!
Have done this before with Sean and I can thoroughly recommend it (well apart from the climb up from Chapman's Pool!), unfortunately due to prior commitments I cannot make any of these dates

When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.

I'm up for it. 17th or 24th should be good for me.
I'll probably overnight in the van so if anyone can recommend a good spot to park up?
Paul.

I think the 17th will be a good day for it. The best place to meet would be the Square and Compass car park an hour before sunrise where it's a 25 minute walk down to Seacombe or Winspit. It's not a difficult place to find if you want to meet us down there.
There's a good secluded car park a couple of minutes drive past the Square on the way to St Albans Head, although the council has just put up hight restriction barriers there. My camper (a Citroen Romahome) just gets under it and I've never had any trouble parking overnight there before. If you can't get in there are a couple of small car parks if you turn in to and though the village of Kingston. I might camp the night there too, if I do I'll let you know.Paul Dunning wrote:I'm up for it. 17th or 24th should be good for me.

Sorry you can't make it Paul, let me know if you fancy meeting up there some other time.Paul Mitchell wrote:Just had that feeling of Deja vu!

I've heard that it does exist. Apparently it's advisable to eat a jar of coffee before venturing in to the darkness

I've found dissolving a jar of coffee in a can of red-bull and using that to wash down a couple of pro-plus pills usually does the jobSean Lewis wrote:I've heard that it does exist. Apparently it's advisable to eat a jar of coffee before venturing in to the darkness

Okay, I shall be at the Worth Matravers car park at 5.30am on Saturday morning, I know... OUCH! If anyone wants to meet us down at Seacombe I can give directions, it's not to difficult a place to find. we'll probably spend an hour or so down there then move along the coast a bit to Winspit. If anyone wants to meet at lunchtime that will be fine, let me know and we can arrange to meet at the Square and Compass at a certain time. Also let me know if you need my mobile number and I can PM it to you.
Cheers,
Sean

Weather? Plan B? I would be very disappointed, if Sean gave in to such trivial considerations.
