I will try to make it but will probably "camp" in my van - have to leave it loose at the moment as trying to juggle too many things.

There is also a pay and display car park around the corner which is free after 6.00pm (two minutes walk from the hotel).

What would be really nice, is if people could bring along a bunch of prints, loose or framed, for us all to admire. There is so much to learn from each other. The actual prints would provide wonderful starting points for constructive discussion. Thanks,
Charles

I'll be there.

Does anyone want to car share from the Bath/Bristol area? I'm happy to drive or go with someone else and share the fuel costs.

Previous workshops have been advertised on Robert Whites home page, but nothing at present. This is useful as LF users, or photographers thinking of moving up to LF see this and get to know about us. Have Robert White been given all the details?

I'm looking forward to the Spring Workshop. I'll be elswhere in Yorkshire on the Thursday, then will be travelling over to Scarborough Friday afternoon.

Have a great workshop

Just like to wish you all a great workshop, would love to have gone myself, back to my old stomping ground, shown you some of the area though from Charles's web site looks like a good guide.
Off to Barcelona & Montserrat, but medium format is as big as the wife can carry.

In the interests of giving you the best of value for this impending weekend, I have been in some negotiations with the group that owns both the Royal and Clifton Hotels in Scarborough. As some of you will already know, I have been trying to get the whole workshop moved to the Clifton for the following reasons :
  • 1. it is £10 less per night
    2. it has its own car park
    3. it is not in the town centre
    4. we can use the lounge without having to pay
It would appear though, that the Royal Hotel and the booking office for the group do not share a computer systemso, the Royal needs to confirm with all who have booked, that you are individually willing to change your booking.

Due to the débacle of the booking system, I have only the vaguest of ideas who has or has not booked.

Please, please, please send an e-mail to workshop [at] (the domain at the top of this page) ASAP so that we can resolve your bookings at the hotel and send you details of the special offers on product, etc.

As Joanna mentioned - you'll need to contact the Royal and say that you're transferring to the Clifton - ask to speak to Michelle Wakefield in the Group Bookings department - she knows about us and what's happening.

She asked me for a confirmation email so that things could be in writing before they'd action it and I'm supposed to be getting a reply with the new details but nothing yet - I need to ring again after Easter...

Andrew, will they be dropping the transfer fee?

Steve, yes there is no transfer fee, although I gather that some of the booking staff have not been made aware of this. It would seem to be best to ask for Michelle in person in order to get that cleared.

I will be there! Bringing a non-LF friend.
Stopping in a B&B in town.
Will a full itinerary be emailed out?
Looking forward to the trip!
See you there.

Nigels,

I think the best bet will be to turn up at the Clifton around evening meal time and see what's sorted out (by the local sages) for the following days. It's most likely that there'll be an email or two sent out within a few days of the workshop with more details on.

There'll be a few of us probably dotted around the area on the Friday taking pictures so you might bump into one or two...
