Spring Workshop 2008

Post by Dave Parkin » Tue Dec 11, 2007 8:30 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

As a minor distraction to the coming season of over indulgence and jollity has any thought been given to suggested venues for the spring 2008 workshop? I note that there is reference in another thread for a return visit to Glencoe in sunny Scotland which I presume will be in the Autumn. To facilitiate a good turn out it would be helpful if we can agree a venue and the dates as this will enable us all to make appropriate plans

Has anyone got any suggestions for suitable locations?

For my twopence worth I would like to suggest:

Cornwall - coast and moors
North Wales - Hills and coasts
Newcastle - City location with a river and a number of bridges, architecture and only one hour from bamborough and dunstanburgh castles for those who like to get up early

As for timing it might be helpful to arrange the trip to allow for the landscapers among us to finish shooting at sunset and then meet up for dinner and a chat which would mean just before the clocks went forward ie back end of March. The down side of this is the early starts and March weather

I'd go with any of the 3 locations, but with North Wales and Cornwall my favourites.

I am also up for either North Wales or Cornwall. Which area has less rain do you think?

How about Essex/Suffolk 8) Still a lot to photograph down there.

I'll be in both North/Mid Wales & Cornwall when I return to the UK in the spring.

Will be shooting images for an ongoing Exhibition folio for about a week in Cornwall probably in March. Wales will be fleeting visits with a little photography along the way.

If the last few workshops are anything to go by we could hold the workshop in the Kalahari desert and it would still rain.

I would guess that Cornwall has the least rain of the two and possibly more tea shops

I'll second the suggestion of Newcastle.
Nothing to do with the fact that I live there...

Anywhere would be great, but depending on the timing I'm likely to be away with work for a chunk of March.

At last, thoughts of a meeting in the SW. Yes please, pencil me in for a bash at Cornwall.

Cornwall sounds good to me, but North Wales would do just as well.

I'd prefer Cornwall myself. Maybe no drier than Wales but definitely warmer and the people speak proper down there :D

As I live in Plymouth, then Cornwall would be a very convenient choice for myself.
I am hoping that this `Spring workshop` will be held during April. 8)

Maybe we can have a mini get together when I'm passing through if theres not a full workshop, there's a one or two others on the Devon/Cornwall border here or on APUG
