Crit please, but please, be gentle.

Post by Mick O'Connell » Sat Jul 30, 2011 11:58 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hi

My first 5x4 in a few years, I know I made a few mistakes in the taking stage.

Image

I can develop. I don't have use of a DR, so I have to scan, get rid of the Dust and scratches in PS. Oh, and a bit of flare!
I haven't used film for a while and the proprieties of Rodinal has changed a wee bit.

f64 @14 mins 19 secs = Rodinal 1+100 20c @14 mins (-30% Reciprocity) I didn't add for bellows (MP5) but will do next time to get more detail in the foreground velvet.

Any comments and pointers in dev'ing will be appreciated.

Thanks

Mick

With results like that, you certainly haven't lost the knack; very nice :D

Thanks Andrew, appreciated :)

I wonder if members could help me with this:-
Before I take the MPP out in the big bad world. It's not been used for a while and testing the way I'm dev'ing.
I was wondering why the leaves are bleeding into the sky. Also the foggy type thing happening at the tops of the trees.
Placed the inside of the wood burning stove at zone 3

MPP
1/4 sec @f64
Rodinal 1+100 @17 min (N-1.5) <--- Am I asking too much of the dev times?
Hole in the bellows?

Did this on the Horseman, same exposure, same dev.

Please excuse the scanning, trying to crack that too!
