hiya all, i have got hold of a 1944 Aero Ektar and had to give it a dam good spring clean with it's scary elements. was a bit of a long shot doing a self portrait with it's f 2.5 aperture but with the help of a stick with blobs of blu tak where my eyes were going to be i think it's turned out well.

Is that toned monochrome or heavily tinted glass on colour film?

it is just a roughish scan from my epson 3200, i scan in colour negative mode and thats how bad the cast is but i quite like it. a bit lith like really.

some of the Aero-Ektar literature mentions coverage of 5x5" but others confirm that it'll cover 5x7

either way etc unless I'm barking up the wrong proverbial there are few other if none, lenses that fast which were manufactured post 1930's, as far as I know

although I do have some Petzvals which are approx f1.9 or thereabouts but that's digressing

it is a 4x5 image. i think 5x7 would be fine with one. there is a guy who shoots the 7 inch on 8x10 on but 1:1 portraits, strange images they are here is a link,
you have to click through the links to see the pictures. i will definitely be shooting some more with it very soon. thanks for the comments.
