FlexColor is image editing software for use, primarily with the Hasselblad high end digi backs and scanners. http://www.hasselblad.se/service--suppo ... tware.aspx

Phocus doesn't support scanner files.

There is also a 3f plugin which allows P-Shop to import Hasselblad Raw 3f images (from scanner & camera).

You would then need to assign a scanner profile & convert to a chosen RGB colour space. This would be easier to do it all in Flexcolor, plus you can use the excellent built in dust/scratch removal.

Hi Ian, I was gonna send some slides for scanning, am I right in reading this thread that the files wont be TIFFs, but a raw filee that I would need Flexcolor for? I could cope with a raw convertor for PS but I am not sure about putting another program on the PC.

That's not my experience Joanna, I am successfully using Flexcolor 4.04 for my Flextight Precision II under Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6.2)

HTH this sounds like a very good deal on scans. All that is needed is the CS5 tool which Tim Parkin trained on his blog, that will make dust removal far more agreeable.

Yeah, I wish Kodak would've built an infrared pass to the KLI-8023.

Having said that, they fitted a light defuser in the 949 which helps a lot. The dust & scratch software removal is similar to the Polaroid dust & scratch removal, it seems to have some sort of a.i. built in and only targets the dust, not the fine detail. I have it set somewhere between 29-42% depending on the image and it does a wicked job.

Thanks for this Bax, I've been steering away from Snow Leopard with the issues over colour profiling, drivers & software compatibility. The last thing you need is Flexcolor not to work, when you've got a big scanning job on.

Thanks Ian, just downloaded the profile. Have only tried assigning on a couple of previous scans. Seems much bluer and to have more shadow depth. Will try it out on some more soon and investigate ways of making it work, but wanted to pass on my thanks immediately.
