WTB: 90mm Lens Cap

Anything to sell (WTS) or looking for anything specific (WTB)? Anything advertised on this forum comes with the usual "buyer beware" advice; it is up to the purchaser to assure themselves of the integrity of the supplier and item being sold. It is also the responsibility of the seller to ensure that payment is forthcoming before parting with said item.

WTB: 90mm Lens Cap

Post by Phil_T » Wed Sep 08, 2010 6:04 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

I've just bought a 300mm f5.6 Caltar II-N lens (my god it's huge!) and it's come without a front lens cap. The outer face of the front barrel is about 90mm in diameter - anyone have a push-on type cap to suit or know here I could buy one?

Guess you've already considered it but Lee do push on caps for their filter adapter rings.

"Lens Caps (Pk of 3)
Set of 3 white translucent clip on lens caps that protect your lens when a Lee ring is fitted. Made from white polypropylene, they can be written on to identify lenses whilst in the camera bag."

I'm not sure, but aren't these a bit too big - around 100mm or so?

They're big, but if you're using filters anyway...

...they're only marginally wider than a 4x5 lens board.

You could be right on the size, but whether it is worth getting one sent from the US is a different matter!

No, I was being thick  I thought I'd just slap the thing onto the lens but, of course, I need an adapter ring as well.

Actually, it might be because I think that's exactly what I need. I've emailed calumet UK to see if they can supply one - might save on postage.

Thanks for your help.
