FS: Nikkor W 210mm F/5.6 lens in Copal 1 shutter

Anything to sell (WTS) or looking for anything specific (WTB)? Anything advertised on this forum comes with the usual "buyer beware" advice; it is up to the purchaser to assure themselves of the integrity of the supplier and item being sold. It is also the responsibility of the seller to ensure that payment is forthcoming before parting with said item.

FS: Nikkor W 210mm F/5.6 lens in Copal 1 shutter

Post by David Evans » Tue Oct 26, 2010 7:53 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Serial number 741###

Glass and body both in excellent condition, with no marks that I can see.

Comes with Nikon front cap, and generic rear cap.

These seem to sell for around $275 for a rough copy to $325+ for a decent copy in the US. Add approximately $30 to $40 postage, and the price I'm asking seems good value. AND that's assuming no VAT or Customs Duty on import!

At Ffordes they are listed at £249 for Exc+ and £349 for Exc++.

For sale here at £225.

Out of interest, I am pretty sure that it is Nikon W 210mm F/5.6 lenses similar to this that are used by both John Sexton and Roman Loranc!

I may also be selling a Nikkor 90mm F/8 in near future. If you may be interested in this please let me know also. Thanks

How's the wound in your foot ? painful :'(

Telling us the lens can be bought cheaper in the US doesn't help you make a sale, particularly as in many cases the Customs here don't charge the duty. That's called a shot in the foot :D

I'm speaking from experience where I've only been charged duty on two out of about 60 US purchases of cameras, lenses etc.

Hello Ian
Thanks for the advice!
The pain in the foot (and knee) has improved considerably, and I managed two good (short but steep) walks in the Dales this weekend, and am feeling good, if a touch stiff, as a result.
You are quite right of course, and I have clarified how I set the price. The lower US price I quoted was for a very well used copy, and was before postage to UK, which would add $30 plus on for something this size.

Hi David

I've been researching the prices for similar lens as yours

If anyone is interested, the price quoted is very reasonable - fwiw the excellent and (by me) highly regarded Paul Beaumont is selling one at the moment - his is superb and "..a fine example" and having seen some of Paul's stock recently, there's little doubt that it will be

so if any forum member is in the market for this lens, David's price is as I've said very reasonable
