Razzle 110b
Razzle 110b
For sale is my beloved Razzle 110b with a 150mm Rodenstock Sironar, or 'Billy Ray Sironar' on Dean's gallery page ( http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~razzle/Ga ... llery.html ). This has just had a set of brand new bellows installed (previous set had a few pinholes).
I'm sure I don't need to introduce these, but just in case they are hand held 5x4 cameras using an integrated range/viewfinder, or the ground glass to focus & compose.
All works perfectly. All speeds sound correct. You remove the front cell to close the camera, but shutter and rear cell stays on. Comes with roll film back adapters, ground glass etc.
Someone buy it before I regret it again...£650 + postage (Only one camera provided - the other is sold already)

Re: Razzle 110b
Hi,
Please excuse daft questions!
Does the camera have a tripod bush?
Can one change lenses?
Many thanks,
David

Re: Razzle 110b
Hi Dave,
answers are yes to the tripod bush - if you look at image number 3, on the right (bottom of the camera in landscape format) of the camera is a small knurled 'extended tripod bushing' (black). Dean makes these due to the frame for the 4x5 back extending below the original line of the body. Having said that, I have rarely needed to mount it on a tripod. These cameras excel in handheld use.
Change lenses? Possible, but not like a conventional camera. The lens panel is integral to the camera, so you would have to start by unscrewing the lens cells (and shutter), then adjust the infinity stops (or manufacture new ones), and then custom grind yourself a new rangefinder cam to the lens you want to use. They are basically built around a lens choice (I had two at one point). Dean will build you pretty much anything that is possible (or he could mod. this one if you send him the camera and a lens). I'm not too sure if you would need a new cam/ infinity stops if you wanted a different 150mm lens.
Hope that answers your (not daft) questions.
Best,
Matthew.

Re: Razzle 110b
That's right, the Razzle is easy to handhold, and is great for snap portraits with it's accurate rangefinder (parallex corrected down to 3-4 feet). And when you do want to maximise dof and use longer exposures, it's a great advantage needing only a relatively lightweight tripod/head combination. I gave up using a 3-way p/t head and wooden tripod, and use a Manfrotto 055 and medium ballhead instead with this combo, much lighter, and the Razzle is easily controlled, even for verticals. My 110B has a 125mm Fuji lens, but the 150mm Sironar shown would be a great lens to have, better for portraits. As they say, just my 2 cents.
