WTB: vintage Patent-Rollex rollfilm back

Anything to sell (WTS) or looking for anything specific (WTB)? Anything advertised on this forum comes with the usual "buyer beware" advice; it is up to the purchaser to assure themselves of the integrity of the supplier and item being sold. It is also the responsibility of the seller to ensure that payment is forthcoming before parting with said item.

WTB: vintage Patent-Rollex rollfilm back

Post by Matt_Bigwood » Mon Jan 02, 2012 2:01 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Might be a longshot, but I'm after a Patent-Rollex rollfilm back for my 1930s Thornton Pickard http://www.flickr.com/photos/mattbigwood/5203474081

The condition isn't important as long as it's working.

Hi Matt,

What is the width/length of the film holder? If it is the 6x9 size I may have something that will fit. It has a total width of 76mm and is about 72mm wide not including the flange The flange thickness is <2mm for about a length of 93mm then expands to 5mm for another 36mm, with an overall length of about 129mm. From the writing on it all I can make out is 'Plaubel Rada' rather than a rollex. It has a dark slide but it is a bit stiff. The film window is 6x9 but there are also masks (and red windows in the back) to allow 6x6 and 6x4.5 too. It needs a little cleaning and there are some thin strips of wood lightly glued to the front at the moment as I have previously used it in my 6x9 baby view camera. I have not used it in quite some time but I do not remember any major light-leaks with it.

Best regards,

Evan
