WTS Schneider Super-Symmar 110mm XL

Anything to sell (WTS) or looking for anything specific (WTB)? Anything advertised on this forum comes with the usual "buyer beware" advice; it is up to the purchaser to assure themselves of the integrity of the supplier and item being sold. It is also the responsibility of the seller to ensure that payment is forthcoming before parting with said item.

WTS Schneider Super-Symmar 110mm XL

Post by Baxter » Sun May 20, 2012 6:34 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

This lens is in fantastic condition and comes with a Linhof/Ebony board as well as caps and the box.

This became my favourite lens with my Ebony 45SU and rightly has established itself a huge fanbase on account of resultant picture quality and the massive image circle. Because I rate this lens so highly, I've held onto this lens for 2 years after selling my film gear, just in case I wanted to go back to the darkslide or go mad with further spending and get a Linhof Techno view camera. Neither of these seem likely to happen and so it's up for sale.

Looking for £800 ono - note this is a price reduction.Lens is now sold

Any questions, please ask

I agree its an excellent lens, and the seller is highly regarded.

I forgot to add: I've used my 110XL rather more than I've used the PS945!

Baxter, I would really, really like this but both the lack of money and the thought I may not use it enough are the things stopping me.
Lovely lens though, a good price and a good seller!

Thanks Steve and Charlie, much appreciated. I'm not surprised that you use this most Steve, I did too. Then again switching to the Cooke opens up a whole host of creative possibilities.

It took me a while to move to a 110, 80, 58mm XL lens set up at wider end from my original 120, 90 and 75mm (latter was short-lived), but found the 110mm really suited the way I saw things. It doesn't exaggerate the foreground unduly, yet has a pleasing angle of view with an image circle that handles the most extreme movements you are likely to dream up. Unlike the wider two XL lenses above, it doesn't require a centre filter.

Hope to catch up with you at Sennen over the summer Charlie if you are around - I've got 3 weeks in total lined up.

Possibly the best focal length wide angle around - with it's large amount of movement you can get wide and loomy or very natural perspective. Good price too! (and it covers 8x10 - just)
Waiting for the developing bill - 2 hours (and it's so small now!)
