Hi from a rather damp and windy Swindon

Post by Mark Pope » Sat Sep 02, 2006 9:01 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hi there,

my name is Mark. I've been a keen photographer for more years than I care to remember, but I'm a relative newbie to large format photography, having bought myself a Shen-Hao HZX45II back in May. I have three lenses: a 75mm caltar II, 150mm apo sironar S and a 210mm Nikkor W.
At the moment, I'm using HP5 plus, which I develop in Perceptol.
It's a steep learning curve, but I'm getting the hang of LF photography.
My wife and I are off to Cornwall via Dartmoor next week for a well-earned break. I hope to get some decent images, weather permitting!

Cheers

Welcome Mark, from another southerner. Wet and very windy it was yesterday, much improved today.

Hope you have some good weather and light for your holiday.

Thanks Paul & Steve.
The long-range weather forecast on weather.co.uk doesn't look too bad. I just hope the wind drops. I've discovered that it's not much fun trying to use a LF camera in high winds :x

I think the weather down there can be quite variable. I remember during the Somerset workshop, Paul and I went onto Dartmoor (around Two Bridges, I think). Weather looked sort of OK. I saw a nice shot, set up the camera, focussed, etc.... As soon as I pulled the quickload out of the bag, the heavens opened...
and it didn't stop for at least a few hours.
Fortunately, there was a Hotel with a nice tearoom reasonably close :)
