Hello from Bristol

Post by zoikes » Fri Feb 11, 2011 1:10 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hello all

I have had a Shen Hao 5x4 sat in the cupboard for 18 months now, and got out with it a couple of times.

Now I'm doing a darkroom course in Bristol and have set to with some FP4 and a combiplan - and have some very exciting negatives of blank walls and towels. Uniform, but slightly confusing densities. I think my mental arithmetic when metering may be worse than my processing consistency....

I have clearance to take the 'big camera bag' on holiday in a week, so I'm looking forward to getting something worth printing! (We'll leave aesthetic judgements 'til later)

Ian

Hi

A belated thanks for the replies.

I made my first prints from my 5x4 prints last week at the community darkroom in Bristol. Chuffed as a badger, frankly - and absolutely no regrets for abandoning digital.

If I could only keep my fingers out of the selenium...

Ian
