Hello from Essex and London

Post by John Hamlen » Wed May 18, 2011 2:01 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hello LF Peeps,

Greetings from darkest Essex (Ingatestone) and London. (A bit 2-centred while the London house is being sold).

Mid-life crisis manifesting itself - not in the need to buy sports cars and get my ears pierced - but in the strange desire to get into 8x10 photography! Think this will be a very good place to start.

All the best,
John

Welcome to the nut house John. Can relate to the mid-life crisis bit... would still rather have a 5x4 or 10x8 to a sports card any day!

Thanks for the warm welcome Paul.

LOL - I think you're right. I got the sports car mid-life crisis over with early. Now that I'm 10 years older (and a lot poorer) I'm hoping that even an 8x10 will be cheaper to run! Hopefully more environmentally friendly too...

Cheers, John

But you've still got to get the camera to the locations… in the car?

I've just got a new Mini Cooper and my nice big Belebach doesn't fit in the boot area with the head on  - but I can just get the 10 x 8 outfit in including a little trolley.

nn :)

LOL - In the past year I've downsized from two cars to no cars, so I think I'd better hit the gym as it's going to be brute force and public transport until I get seduced by the dark side again and get another car!

Though I do like that mental image of that photographically adorned Morgan! Pure retro-class.
