Hi Mick

welcome

well as far as I'm concerned a rf back used with a 5x4 camera is indeed Large Format but there has been plenty of debate on this, particularly over on the Large Format Photography Forum

regards

Similarly, we tend to feel that LF starts at 100 sq.cm. (usually 6 x 17) :D

Welcome to the community Mick, it's always good to know that there's still a spirited group of LF'ers alive and kicking around our shores.

Where abouts in E. Yorks? I'm originally a Brid kid!

well Mick, there's the definitive answer....................

unfortunately for you, if you intended to have your 120 fim classed as LF, the cost in getting such a back isn't cheap

anyhow best of luck with LF work per se

Mick, you are very welcome here, regardless of whether you use MF as well as LF or not. It all adds to the variety of life

Mind you, some of us have found that we can suffer from "format creep"; you know, you start with something small, then move to the next size, only to find that you really wanted something bigger after all

You are certainly in a good area to meet up with some of our members. Keep an eye on who's going out and where, or post a message if you would like to find someone to go out with.

yep, 'format creep' very dangerous indeed

me I went from 4x5 to 6.5x8.5, then 5x7, up to 10x12 and back to 10x8

I'd recommend caution and a health warning, it's addictive
