New Boy

Post by Tom van Kan » Thu Nov 24, 2011 10:57 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hallo Folks, greetings from Ireland, have started making Photos again after a long pause, so have to re-learn loads of stuff, 4"x 5" and 6x7 with a Rollfilm back on, what a good feeling! I am waiting for a new Tripod to arrive, as hand-held 4x5 is a little tricky, (it can be done though, honestly). I also use 35mm Rangefinder, find it handy. (The only digital can manage to use is the Mobile 'Phone).
Main study at present: Stroebel + View Camera Magazine, along with some old copies of Photo-Technik International.
So there we are, 'Scheimpfplug Rules'

Welcome indeed 'new boy'

Stroebel is a very heavy read, literally

My vast collection of VC mags taught me a lot - traditionally the owner/editor has come in for some (fairly significant) flak on the web forums but if it hadn't been for him, I would never have pitched in

good luck and regards

Another welcome to the forum Tom... 'van Kan' ... do I detect a Dutch influence or is it an internet pseudonym?

When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
