Hello Everyone

Post by Meekyman » Tue Sep 18, 2012 9:30 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hi Everyone,

I'm Graham and I joined the forum back in June. God, sounds like standing up at an AA meeting!

I'm based in Cambridge and have been interested in photography for several years and have been using digital SLR's up to now. I want to get of the treadmill of ever wanting or feeling the need to "upgrade" every time a new camera is announced and enjoy the delights of LF. I used film back when I was a teenager, but fumbled around. I'm hoping now that I can actually use it properly. I;m keen on learning new stuff and want to see what happens with these boxes and film! I bought a spotmeter back in June and have spent the last few months trying to understand how to get that working. Did a workshop with Dav Thomas and Tim Parkin and have dived in.

I primarily take landscape photos. I realise I will be needing a few bits and bobs and so if anyone has anything going spare, drop me a line.

Cheers

Graham

Welcome to the forum Graham. I think we can all relate to fumbling about as teenagers... sometimes not involving film either

You made a great choice having Tim and Dav show you the ropes, two people who I respect and admire.

Hi Graham,

Taking those first images can be challenging - all so manual and lots to remember. But it soon becomes easier, and seeing those images on a light box is a great thrill and makes it all worthwhile! Hope you enjoy the journey and don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have.

All the best,

Jenny

Thanks Paul and Jenny for replying.

I'm looking forward to the challenge, but just hope I don't find it too frustrating or rather my skills too lacking!

When I finally get all the bits and pieces together and take a photo I am happy with and digitised it, well then I'll post it!

Cheers

Graham
