Moved to Wiltshire

Post by Ian Williams » Sun Mar 24, 2013 8:37 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hello everyone.
I am not a new member, but I have been pretty absent for a while with work and family commitments. I have just moved to Wiltshire, just outside Devizes, and am hoping to indulge myself in large format photography again. It would be great to hear from any one in the area.

Hi Ian,

I am in the very North of Wilts. I have been absent for a while too but plan to get the cameras out more; all I need now is a sunny day ....

Best regards,

Evan

I live just outside Swindon, so not too far away, although I do tend to shun the sun :)

Time for a day out in Wilts methinks!

I'll get the ball rolling by suggesting Martinsell Hill one morning?...

The following are MF not LF but they'll give you an idea...

Joe has some very nice woods near him too!

Sounds like a plan to me.

I spend far too much time in the woods, I should broaden my horizons a bit

I like that last picture, Paul.

What are the woods like in autumn?

We do quite well for woods in N. Wiltshire with the oldest Royal forest still in private ownership; Savernake, where I spend most of my time. Also, West Woods, one of the largest bluebell woods in the country (formerly part of the Savernake Estate). There also numerous other copse and small woods dotted about.

If you have a few minutes to read through, I put together a short guide to Savernake on my web site http://www.joewrightphotography.com/201 ... ent-forest. I should probably add some more recent material to this as it's a year or so old now.

I'll create a new thread in the 'Meeting up' section then.

Amazing! I would love to meet and brush the cobwebs off my LF camera. Thank you all for the responses - I am very excited now and really looking forward to discovering Wiltshire 'upside down and back to front'!.
