Greetings everyone!
My name is Liang. I am originally from Beijing of China and settled in Glasgow since 2005.
I see photography as a journey. I started my journey with a humble Olympus μ (miu). During my journey towards large format, I have had a string of trust worthy companions I have never gave up, these including a few Nikon SLRs e.g. F3 and F100, some digitals e.g. Nikon D100 and Fujifilm S5 Pro, a few medium format cameras including Hasselblad Xpan2, a Seagull TLR and Rolleiflex TLRs.
Landscape is my best interest and I find great fun doing high magnification shots. When I took the dive and bought my first LF camera a Linhof MT 4x5 camera 6 years ago my journey inevitably reached the great interchange. It was big; it was sharp; it was beautiful. And that is the magic large format to my heart. Now I am using a Linhof MT IV 4x5 and a MT V 5x7 and am expecting to cover an 8x10 format with a Chinese made wooden camera. I am a big fan of panoramic takings and use a Chinese made Widepan 617S for extreme wide captures.
I primarily process my films in digital workflow. Over a few years of using a drum scanner I have gathered one or two experiences I am happy to share with. I am also familiar with computer hardware and I can provide some useful suggestions in building cost effective image processing PCs.
Anyhow, I am very glad to be able to join the community and been granted a membership which terminated my read-only life for the forum.
All the best, fellow members!
Summer is coming!
