Hello from Plymouth

Post by LO » Thu Oct 11, 2007 11:10 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Hello

Have been contemplating large-format for a while, and finally took the plunge earlier this year and bought myself a Shen Hao, I wish I hadn't waited so long to make the switch from 35mm.

Having found the answers to many of my questions on this forum, thought it was about time I joined. I'm lucky to be based in Plymouth, so with Dartmoor, and the South Devon and Cornwall coast on the doorstep, I'm very spoilt for choice, now I just need to learn to do it justice.

Liz

Welcome Liz to our little community :)

see, we're not so scary afterall eh? ;) I think quite a few here are in a similar situation, so you're among friends here. Myself, I was a confirmed digital user before I "went film", and now the expensive DSLR sees less use than the wooden box with the bellows.

How lucky you are to have so much choice of scenery on your doorstep, it's all a bit flat round my neck of the woods...

Welcome Liz,

You will not regret going LF. It takes a little while to find your feet but the results are well worth the effort.

Welcome Liz

Even with all the extra weight to carry it's still lots more fun & a good excuse for getting out more

Hello LO,what`s all this `ere then?

I see you are also from Plymouth and saw your post mentioning `Spectrum` for processing ReadyLoad and QuickLoad 4x5 film-sheets. I hadn`t thought of trying them, so I will find out some more information on cost per sheet. Also no P&P to worry about as I can take my films there and collect personally.

Good luck with your Shen Hao,

Keith.
