Mike from Manchester
Hi guys,
My name is Mike and I am a 21 year old student from Manchester. I am in my second year at University. I first tried Large format last year and really enjoyed it. I want to use it in my final year for my personal project. So I thought it best to get my own. Previously I have used a couple of mono rails, an MPP mkvii and a Wista field camera.
I managed to pick up a Sinar F1 last night. All I need for it is a lens board and lens to get started!
Here are a couple of examples of my work, from my first attempt with the view camera:
Manchester University
Salford Quays
More of my work can be found here if anyone is interested:

Hi Mike, and welcome.
I have edited your post to get the photos to show correctly, the key is to remove the last characters after the .jpg part.
As for finding a 90mm lens, you can also post a WTB in our Classified forum or you might like to get in touch with PFD in Ardwick. They have all sorts of secondhand gear and bits and bobs like lens boards.
I took a look at your Flickr library; nice work - you certainly like your cars, don't you

Reassure yourself - stroke an Ebony
Thanks for the welcome Joanna and for sorting the pics. I had a look at the guide in the General Discussion section but it didn't mention removing the jpg.
Anyway, I handed in all my assessments last week so now I have two weeks off to do what I want. I want to get my new camera up and running and make sure its light tight etc. Will probably borrow a lens from uni til I find my own!

Hi Mike
I finished my degree last year and like you shot my final project in B&W with a sinar.
Best of luck they are very heavy if you need to carry it a long way. Perhaps that's why I chose the orbital route for a subject I could drive round it.
We had to write a journal as part of the project and I did mine as a blog. I've not updated it since graduation but if you are interested its still up http://photo-jottings.blogspot.com/
