Kodak 2d 13x18 cm
I have a nice kodak 2d 13 x 18 cm for sale.
The camera needs some (wood) work/restauration.
The bellows are not light tight, but it only has a few holes at only one side of the bellows.
The rest of the bellows is in surprinsinly good shape.
It's complete with one plateholder and extention rail !.
Price € 100,= plus shipping.
If you need any more info, just send me a carrier pigeon.......

Re: Kodak 2d 13x18 cm
Alex, I'm a bit puzzled about which model this is. The camera itself maybe well be Whole plate.
That's not the original back, Kodak always used spring backs, and that one looks like it needs book-form plate (film) holders. I'd need to check my pre-WWII Kodak (UK) catalogue but a Whole plate camera is quite desirable (more so than 13x18) because it's a better fgormat for wet plate and contact printing.
Don't take that as a negative comment far from it, the camera's easy to restore and the price is very fair, and it is useable with the current back, but if it is Whole plate then some has the option to make or find a back of that format.

Re: Kodak 2d 13x18 cm
Ian,
no problem at all.
I join forums to learn something.
I really don't know. I have that camera lying around for some time now.
I have no time for restauration, so maybe somebody else might be happy with it.
What is the back size of a 2d whole plate camera ????
BTW 18 x 13 cm is perfect for wetplate. I made my best plates at that size.
Scanned the plates and made beautifill digital prints from them.

Re: Kodak 2d 13x18 cm
Hi Alex
A Whole plate camera takes film/plates 8.5"x6.5", approx 21.5cm x 15cm. So the advantage of your camera is it would be dual format if someone added a Whole plate back.
I'm in house restoration mode and no spare cash or I'd buy this camera myself as it's a real bargain at that price

Hi Alex
As Ian has said that's definitely not the original back - what it is, is a back from another camera (which as Ian also said) accepts wooden book form plate holders
fwiw, the exact measurements of a Kodak half plate back are 216 x 213mm
regards
