Shutter curtains - MPP MicroPress & Pacemaker Speed Graphic

Post by IanG » Thu Oct 27, 2011 10:44 pm Etc/GMT-1+01:00

If anyone is interested I'm making a batch of shutter curtains for some US camera restorers for Pacemaker Speed Graphics, these fit the MPP MicroPress as well - it's a Pacemaker Speed in disguise after all :D

Also a curtain for a Graflex D (reflex camera. Other curtains can be supplied if you have the original as a pattern.

Ian, I'd like this post to have more prominence, to avoid it getting lost in the general discussion. Would you object to me moving it to the Classifieds section, since it is, sort of, related to buying, selling and other services?

Not sure that the Classifieds is the right place either. It's more about people being aware I maybe able to help them out, and I don't do it for a profit it's a spin off from my own restoration work.

Now if there was a Classic/Vintage camera & Lens section that would be appropriate, and there are quite a number of members using classic cameras and old brass lenses.

This isn't the best approach.

As I said before a Classic/Vintage camera and lens section would be more appropriate.

Ian, we do not have the demand for such specialised subjects yet. As it is, the alternative processes forum is hardly overrun and this Services forum is unlikely to attract that much traffic, but it will attract more as it covers services for all branches of LF.

If you are not happy with your post here then I will happily delete the thread and, if necessary the forum as well.

Just for clarity you said "Would you object to me moving it to the Classifieds section," now it's in a Services section. That's better.

I note your comment about lack of traffic but when suggestions are made to improve the forum as a whole they are ignored by certain moderators/admins.

An example when I posted that the Announcements section shows different last posts depending where it's viewed from the thread was censored and 99% dleted because of other peoples comments so my comment was lost/ignored. There's a need for moderators and particularly the Admins to listen and act not sit back and in particular stop deliberately accerbating the issues which are very simple to resolve.

It's in everyone's interset to improve this website.

Opened this forum section out of curiosity :)

Can you PM me a price on a set of Speed graphic curtains, I'm refurbing mine and the current curtain has been repaired so a new set would be nice if the cost isn't too prohibitive. Would you just supply the curtain or could I send you the rollers and you return them with new curtains attached?

Thanks
