Spirit of Salts

Post by Paul Mitchell » Wed Nov 16, 2011 11:01 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Whilst browsing some of the recent posts over on FADU I spotted a topic about Randall Webb & Martin Reed's excellent book 'Spirit of Salts' being in short supply and that Process Supplies still have some in stock http://www.processuk.net/Books/cat740598_659677.aspx

For anyone that's vaguely interested in Alternative Processes this book is a must!

This, in my experience of 15 years of alternative process photography, isn't a particularly good book. Things have advanced since this book was originally written, there are some errors and omissions and I'm not overly keen on some of the text particularly the light-heartedness which doesn't mix well with some dangerous chemicals. Having said that it is a useful book to own as a part of an alternative process library.

I believe that there was some talk of it being updated but unfortunately Randall is not well
