Re: Isle of Purbeck meet up in March?
Plan B: If the weather looks set to be nasty on Saturday morning, we'll meet up in the same place (Worth Matravers car park) and walk down to Winspit instead. On the way down (or back up) from there, there's an old ruined house http://www.seanlewisphotography.co.uk/g ... 16&pid=624 that has some photographic potential. At Winspit itself you have the abandoned quarry workings and caves as well as potential for rock details on the shoreline. If bad weather persists after lunch, maybe take a drive over to Kimmeridge and walk along to Charnel and Broadbench for some photographic geological exploration What d'ya think?

Looking at the met office - I think I need a canoe which is annoying cos I've already paid for the B&B grrrr. It may be just a recce in a raincoat for another day for me at this rate which is a pain as its lovely in Southampton today (Thu) ...
Digi-snapper now (finally) turned LF shooter hmm been doing this long enuff - Now LF photog !

A bit of rain never hurt anyone . Could be some good storm light and clouds, beats all this blue sky malarky we've been having. Where abouts are you staying?

Regarding overnight parking, (going back a few now but better late than never) my vans a hi-top VW and height barriers are a problem so I think I'll head over past Kingston where you suggested.
Who was it said there is "no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes"?

Based on weather forecast I am going to be a lightweight and bail (excuse the pun) out of tomorrow. Earn some extra brownie points at home for next time.

Okay Dave, maybe see you down there next time.
Paul, I'm going to stay at my parents in Swanage tonight so I'll see you in the Square and Compass car park in the morning.

Re: Isle of Purbeck meet up in March?
A huge thanks to Sean for a very enjoyable day.
Here are a few of my efforts.
EDIT: These are replacements for the rather green versions that I previously posted (just in case anybody gets confused by the comments below ), hopefully the colours in these work better.
Winspit #1 - Portra 160
Winspit #2 - Portra 160
Trying (with limited success) to tame the rocky chaos at Chapman's Pool - Portra 160
I also tried the fist two with Velvia 50 but I think I prefer the way the porta has held the textures in the darker rocks. I think I'm getting the hang of scanning portra but let me know if you think the colours are a bit off.

Like them Paul. You weren't helped by a poor looking sky but they use foregrounds well. As for colour they all seem to have an underlying green tint to me. Might be me. What does anybody else think?

Yes a bit cyan-y, but mainly in the darker parts: the skies look about right and wouldn't want to be that much more red or magenta. Good luck!

Excellent shots Paul! I too see a green colour cast in the darker areas, I had the same thing happen the last time that I used colour neg for portraits a couple of years ago.
Thanks to all who came along. After a rather damp start I think it was a pretty good day (helped along with a good pasty and a pint of chocolate orange ale ).

It was a great day and thanks to Sean for organising and to Tim for letting me use his Fujinon T 400mm f/8 Lens.
Super shots Paul although as said they do have an interesting green cast I'm back to Dorset next week as Collette and I are on holiday so if anyone is at a lose end give me a shout

Re: Isle of Purbeck meet up in March?
Thanks for the feedback guys, the green cast is so obvious once it's pointed out, a bit embarrassing that I missed it really I must have been staring at them for too long without a neutral reference (at least that's my rather poor excuse).
Paul.

Re: Isle of Purbeck meet up in March?
Very nice Sean, especially the first one. I see what you mean about the velvia going mad in #2, I still like it though.
Paul.
P.S.
I had a play with fixing the green cast in my images and re-posted new versions in the original post above. Hopefully they are a little better
