Lake District Spring 2013

Post by Charles Twist » Tue Nov 27, 2012 9:17 am Etc/GMT-1+01:00

Meet on Friday 12th of April at 7ish at the Dog and Gun (2 Lake Road, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 5BT) for a weekend of LFography

Talking to George Hart on another thread, the idea came up we should have a meeting in the Lake District in Spring 2013. Who's up for it? Does anybody have a preference for date & place? If not, I'll nominate them.
I look forward to catching up.
Best wishes,
Charles

I'd definately by up for a spring meet with the LFers. I know we have done it before, but Keswick is always a good base. Lots of good scenery within easy reach and excellent places for spending beer vouchers. And the Ghoulash in the Dog and Gun is worth the visit on its own.
Regs, Nigels.

I was talking to Sean not so long ago about organising a Lake District meet and Charles you've beating me to it so I'm up for it and will have my wife, Collette in tow :)

Like Nigel I think Keswick makes a good base and I have no preference about dates.

Keswick, it is then. :D I propose we meet at the Dog and Gun (2 Lake Road, Keswick, Cumbria CA12 5BT) at 7ish on the Friday evening, depending on weather and individual circumstances.
Dates: Easter weekend is the 29/3 to the 1/4 and it will definitely rain then - always does until about noon on the Monday. Besides which, people prefer to be with their family then. What would you prefer - weekend of the 16/3 or weekend of the 13/4?
LF Photography widows are welcome.
Could all those going send (pm) me your mobile phone numbers, so that I can share it amongst participants? Makes coordination a lot easier.
All this lovely weather right now is excellent training.
Thanks,
Charles

Thanks for your help, Charles. The March weekend is no good for me, but I can do at least some of the April dates. Looking forward to some misty early spring mornings, but prepared for rain!

April it is then.
Feel free to get the word out to your networks and invite friends. The more the merrier.
We'll meet up on Friday 12th of April at 7ish at the pub and decide on a plan of action for the weekend. Please bring along suggestions and use this thread to discuss where's good to shoot. Anybody any favourites or curious about anywhere?
As per usual, during the day, folk can do their own thing or gang up - as you wish. All levels of expertise are catered for: the more experienced are usually more than happy to share their experiences.
Sunrise is 06:17 and sunset is 20:10 (if we see the sun).
All the best,
Charles

Date noted.
I hear the view from the top of Scarfell Pike is utterly ravishing that time of year.

I'm hoping to get to Edinburgh for the 16th/17th so may well try and pop in on the way up. While you are looking for scenes please consider a trip to Derwent Water where my friend and neighbour Peter Randall-Page has an exhibit of one of his sculptures. I've tried to place a photo of it on this page.

I would have loved to have been there but alas I'm due to give a lecture down in Devon that weekend :( :'(

I did manage a few days in the Lakes last month and would definitely return to Ullswater & Aira Falls, Borrowdale, Buttermere and Rydal Water

Have a fab time!
