Envelope System for Quickload, ReadyLoad, Polaroid Holders
I have just started negotiations to manufacture a film envelope system that can be used in Quickload holders (and should also work in Readyload and Polaroid holders).
Yes, it means loading the envelopes in the dark but it allows you to use any type of 4x5 cut film that you like in these holders.
The envelope is so designed that you can also add exposure notes and convert it into a storage envelope.
The system allows you to fill your own envelopes before a trip, thus needing only one holder, just as if you were using your favourite Quickload or Readyload envelopes.
Further details to follow.

In all fairness, it is surprising how lower levels of relative humidity affect the dust problem. We don't have many fungus-ridden lenses, but spend a lot more time spotting. I guess everything evens out in the end.

That's why he's got a daughter. Smart thinking, boyo.
I am glad you got your idea sorted, Joanna - I'll stop looking, shall I? Let us know how it goes.
Best regards,
Charles

This looks very interesting indeed.. How do cope with the plastic bit that lets you pull out the film and envelope back out?Joanna Carter wrote:I have just started negotiations to manufacture a film envelope system that can be used in Quickload holders (and should also work in Readyload and Polaroid holders).

This sounds like a great idea - any ideas when it's likely to develop? Anything to reduce the weight of those DDS's.
Re' the dust - surely all anyone needs to do is prepare an extra envelope when loading film and put all the dust in that it? Simple really - another problem solved...

Dust? We just need to rent space in a modern, dust-free submarine, which as an added bonus comes with a built in darkroom (you just turn off the lights), mobile photographic platform, props (dozens of young, photogenic sailors only too willing to lug our equipment up and down the ladders
) and oodles of scran (food) and a daily beer ration in the mess beer fridge!
They would probably accomodate us in the fore-end sleeping alongside the torpedos - and being turfed out at 0330 during a routine exercise drill, but it would all add to the challenge (and our sleepiness)...... Anyway on boats night & days merge into one........
